Something that worked really well for my group was adding weight to the car. Our car is very small but we added as much weight as possible which has been making it goes really fast and super far. Something that didn't work was making the car tall. We added pieces to the top thinking it would make the car go farther but it ended up making it move side to side. We completely started over on our car today and changed the base. It wasn't very strong before but it's super sturdy now.

I agree that adding weight makes the car go faster, my group did that to our car as well. Our car is kind of tall but we didn't have much of a problem of it going to the side. It curved a little when it was off the ramp, but other than that we were fine.
